Welcome Party
The Municipal House, venue for the Conference’s opening gathering, is a national heritage building and one of the most important buildings in Prague.
It stands in the very centre of the city on the site of the old Royal Court, and was conceived as a monumental ceremonial palace intended to be the centre of Czech cultural and social life. Leading Czech painters and sculptors shared in the decoration of the beautiful halls and salons, all of which will be open for the party.

Wander around at your leisure sampling Czech food, wine and beer and listening to the musicians and other artists who will be there to entertain you.

Prague Castle Gala Dinner    THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
For over 1,000 years, Prague Castle, with its fairytale architecture, has assumed a unique role in Europe and since the 9th century it has been both a secular and an ecclesiastical location. Formerly the seat of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, it now houses the offices of the President of the Czech Republic.

Permission has been given to the IBA to hold the Gala Dinner in State Rooms not usually open to the public: the Spanish Hall, the former principal hall of the court for balls and coronation festivities, and Rudolf’s Gallery, which represents the summit of interior design during the reign of Rudolf II in the 16th century.

Dinner will take place in these two rooms, both stunningly beautiful and quite unforgettable, and will be followed by dancing in the adjacent Rothmayer Hall.

Join us for what should prove to be a truly memorable evening, a fitting climax to the Conference week in this most beautiful of European capitals.
Price: £148
(£124.37 + £23.63 Czech VAT @ 19%)

Prague is a music-orientated city and classical concerts are regularly held in churches as well as in Prague’s numerous concert halls.

The Conference week coincides with the renowned International Music Festival (12 September - 1 October) which attracts worldwide orchestras and soloists.
